The campus is beautiful and the location is very appealing. The best aspect of my uni experience is the study abroad programme where uni gave me the opportunity to go to other countries I never thought I’d go to and experience their culture, norms, values and of course try to new traditional food. This helped me grow in confidence as it push me out of my comfort zone. Uni could be improved if it had more work experience opportunities related to the degree I am studying

The contact with my supervisor (Yang Ye) for the dissertation was disappointing. He took 3 weeks to reply to my urgent emails regarding deadlines, causing unnecessary stress and uncertainty. Also, he would schedule meetings then not join, furthermore not notifying that he would not be able to join so as a result, I’m just left waiting for no reason and wasting my time. When I reached out to let him know that I’m struggling and do not know how to do something, he said I should use artificial intelligence which seemed so lazy on his part because i expected him to show me instead as that’s his role.

The small course sizes means you get to know everyone and the lecturers really get to know you. The lecturers are always accessible. I think the SU should do more events for postgraduate students as we don’t always want to get involved with the nights out.

It is blended learning but it does work and is not like when we were in lockdown. In person hours we have at least 6 hours a week. We can always email lecturers and they reply quite quickly ans they are always available after the seminars.

There are a range of prices you can pick from so it is accessible for everyone. The only downside so far is the wifi dropping out quite often.
