I have had the best three years of my life at Northumbria. The city is incredible and offers a range of activities from the famous nights out to more wholesome days such as walking along the quayside, exploring the markets and walking through jesmond and ouseburn. Newcastle really has it all no matter what you’re looking for! The university itself is also amazing, it has won awards about being the university of the year and I think that says all that it needs to. I have had so much support, especially in first year where I had a few calls from the student support team simply asking how I was doing with the big move to university, how I was coping financially etc. it really made me feel at ease from moving away from home and they have always made it known that you are not alone and they can help with anything you need.

I haven’t had that many opportunities to see my personal tutor, only once a year do we get given an allocated time as a tutor group to see them, although they do make it known that you can schedule a meeting with them at anytime, and you can talk about anything you need. The lectures have been amazing and are always there to answer questions etc.

Portland Green was an amazing accommodation to live in in first year. The staff there were incredible and were always so friendly and open to helping no matter the issue, it really felt like a home away from home.

I am a student at Northumbria and I have been loving it since I am here. The socialising at Northumbria is really good, its cheap and there are a lot oft things to do. I love the course I am doing, the lecturers are all highly qualified in their teaching areas and the facilities are always improving. My advice to anyone looking to join Northumbria would be to try joining a sports team, just a team, you will be able to meet so many different people and have a lot of fun. Also, you should always look forward to staying in halls.
