Firstly the student life is amazing there is always something hosted for the uni for you to do or you can join the multitude of fantastic clubs that they have to offer. The academic side is also very good as they cover a lot of varied things within a subject that you can always find something you are interested in. The only thing I would change about the university is how hilly it is, I get tired just by walking to my lectures.

The lectures have 2 set contact hours a week so if you need help you can always schedule a meeting or just drop in during the set hours. All the lectures are recorded so if you miss them or want a refresher you can watch them back or just read through the PowerPoints which are also available. The mix of lectures and seminars is wonderful, lectures are a whole cohort overview of the slides and seminars are smaller group sessions where the lecturers and phd students can help you further.

My accommodation is perfect for living in, it's not too small and the kitchen is large enough for everyone to sit comfortably and socialise. The price is reasonable and the wifi can be slow sometimes but it is usually pretty good. I've had a power cut that lasted for 4 hours in the accommodation before and the floor above boiler broke once, flooding my flat and destroying some roof tiles, and the light where it leaked, which still aren't fixed.

I was very impressed with the university during my first year, but I am finding myself dissapointed with the changes made within my department. The overall feeling now is that the main purpose of the university isn't to broaden your skills and congnitive abilities, but to make you as bland and generally employable as possible.

Standard, nothing innovative. Some of the lectureres are wonderful, yet there seems to be a lot of handholding happening as well.
