Belfast is a wonderful place to be a student - it's vibrant and youthful, but has tons of history too. The quality of teaching is really high. The worst aspect would be that many of the facilities are old an need updating, particularly the sport centre and there are also issues with the administrative side of how the university is run, for example regarding room bookings.

I really like my course, but I am only one semester in. There is a push from QUB (not the course itself) around getting students back in class, which is understandable, but sometimes the administrative side isn't making this easy for students. We have a very dedicated programme convenor and the teaching is generally very focused on real-world scenarios and improving skills to prepare us for becoming planning professionals.

I lived in halls as an exchange student at QUB in 2016. I was alone every weekend in my hall as the only international student, when everyone else went home to their families across NI. The rooms were fine but a bit like a prison cell that costs a LOT. The security is way beyond what it needs to be, making you feel like a criminal rather than a responsible adult. I kind of hated it.

The students union use of space could be improved bring more seating into the main area and the fact that there is only one student kitchen on the third floor.

This year in particular we have significant problems with licensing for essential programs for our course and this has caused bunching for our assessment deadlines.
