I would suggest that you get involved in the social and sporting clubs & societies. Also try and go to every class it can be very quick to fall behind and remember that the lecturers are here to shape you up, so let them!

Heriot watt is an amazing campus, the scenery is incredible and it is a great university to study at. The staff always put in so much effort to help with courses and the facilities are great!

Studying physics is great at heriot watt! However, like a lot of university courses it is extremely difficult and you need to put a lot of time into it. I feel as though I was not made aware of this aspect until I got into my 3rd year! The lecturers are amazing though and always around to help if I’ve had any questions.

I was in first year during covid so halls felt like being in prison at times! Around the clock security making sure no one was breaking the rules felt a bit extreme given that we were all away from home and our families and were basically living with strangers we just met!
