I have loved my university experience. I do really like the campus and bristol is a great city with all sorts to do with whatever your needs and hobbies are. However, often I get frustrated with the administration of the university. Getting marks back takes a long time, mental health resources are available but supply can’t meet demand and staff can be a bit hit or miss with whether they will help. Overall, I have loved bristol and my course and made great friends.

Sometimes work takes a long time to get marked which is annoying. I find the economics department is a lot better funded than philosophy so there is frustration there. For this year (2021-22) learning has been blended which works fine on the whole. Our course contact hours are around 16 hours a week with added reading, perhaps online videos and work for seminars so it adds up.

Bristol is great because the city has a lot to offer. Great for clubbing, great food scene, lots of different areas to go out and do things, also has areas of nature so you can go get fresh air and exercise. The campus being in the city is also great as it’s easily accessible and doesn’t feel out in the middle of nowhere.

Food was included in these halls which was great but the timing when food was offered was limited to 7-9 for breakfast and on the weekend you only got brunch 7-12 so you did not get dinner provided and then the only cooking facilities in halls we had access to were microwaves and you were not allowed your own appliances. There were a lot of people to 1 fridge as well and things used to get stolen. The halls themselves were lovely old buildings and felt safe the most of the time. It is an expensive halls though and you have to get the bus to university but this is funded.

my advice to students thinking of choosing Bristol university would be to choose baddock halls and go catered I would change the showers they are awful there is no power in them Others should choose this university and my course because i have never met so many strange people
