Throughout my 3 years at King's I found that student unions and KCLSU are more helpful than actual academic and administrative staff at KCL, which is sad. I was getting more help academically and mentally from my peers and student led organisations them from university staff. I have a lot to say about academic aspect at KCL, however, I realise and can see it with my eyes that there are always good and bad academics and saying bad things about everyone is not my intention, however, some academics just do not want to help. Saying all that, I must insist that KCL is still a good place to study because of high ranking, not so crazy and strict rules like at other universities from high rankings and very supportive student led organisations.

In pharmacology department I have never heard about the existence of contact hours which actually shocked me. Not so long time ago I realised that it is something that other faculties at KCL have and other student can actually come and talk to their lecturers about course content they do not understand. After my attempts to ask lecturers from my department that contact hours is something they must do available for us I have got two reactions: ignorance and denying. Some lecturers offered me to email them which is not how contact hours work as such, or just come and ask questions after a lecture, completely ignoring the fact that we, students, might have other lectures and things to do after a lecture. Due to COVID-19 pandemic my first year was fully online and it was partly a disaster. Some of the lectures weren't uploaded on time, most of them were of really bad quality. I understand that academics do not need to know how to make online-lecture good-looking and engaging, however, from a customer point of view - I would rather pay to course lecturers then to my KCL academics to provide my with online learning.
