My experience at university this year has been very interesting ! It has been hard however I feel that the university has provided us with a lot of guidance and clarity when navigating our academic lives and through this pandemic .

The facilities are world class and there is ready accessible resources that can be found throughout the university to cater to students needs.

Employability services readily running throughout the year to show students how to best utilise their skills learned theoretically and apply these in the real world. From CV clinics to mock interviews they have a range of methods to prepare you!

The campus is easy to get to know and you feel very safe when walking around. Furthermore, it always feels clean and I rarely see excessive amounts of rubbish. The Students Union offers a range of societies, clubs and packages to ensure everyone feels included and I feel well represented as a student. The university isn't too far from the city and public transport means you can be in the centre within 20 minutes with ease. The nightlife in Nottingham is exciting and the location of the city in relation to others across the UK means it is easy to hop on a train to see a new city you haven't been to before. There is plenty to do as a young student here.

The course, although new, is based out of the Queens Medical Centre and boasts a number of academic staff who dedicate time to ensure it runs smoothly. You are given a solid grounding in biomedical sciences prior to delving into the deeper details of cancer sciences and this is highlighted with students being thoroughly interested. There are multiple postgraduate opportunities too at the university and this is something you are encouraged to consider by academic staff and tutors.

The rooms are very good value for money and although not the most modern, they provide everything a student could need. The catering is a little bit hit or miss, but this is common across the university, not just Sherwood.
