The city feels welcoming and homely and the engineering department facilities in the Diamond building really enrich my studies.

The course has high contact hours compared to many other courses and a good combination of lectures, workshops and labs. All of our teaching has gone back to in-person however all of the content is easily accessible online if you need it.

The Endcliffe halls are in a very nice and safe area of the city with everything you need within walking distance which makes the transition to living alone much easier. However, it is quite a walk out of the city centre and I found getting to the train station quite a hassle as it was about a 50 minute walk. The halls are right on the edge of the peak district and easy to access via bus. In our halls we had a shop right outside the building as well as a bar/restaurant and study space. We also had a cleaner that cleaned our communal areas every 2 weeks.
