The student support offered is great. My team of lecturers are lovely and offer good personalised support for each student. The way each building is spread across the city makes it difficult to access support as it is all far away from each other. There's also a significant lack of charging ports in class rooms.

The course content is great, accessible hours and easy to contact lecturers. Placement is a mixed bag, with long difficult hours and a lack of student support and acknowledgement

It is very welcoming and all the staff are so lovely. I have dyslexia and I cant fault anyone. They’re all so helpful in making sure I have support in place to help me. I would say the communication via email is not great but I understand they are busy and have a lot of emails. Other than that the university is great and I cannot speak highly enough. I would recommend John Moores to anyone and everyone. The mental health support is unreal. Everyone is so lovely and they check in with you even when you stop going to the wellbeing team. They are so understanding and supportive of what you’re going through and will bend over backwards to try and help which is just amazing. Especially doing such an intense course like midwifery it is amazing that I know I can turn to the wellbeing team for a chat or my lecturers. All my friends in this uni make the most of the support offered here at John Moores and we all say how amazing it is to have this in place. The campus is central so it doesn’t matter if you’re in wavertree or Kensington you’re able to get a bus or walk to the campus so easily!

It is a very intense course. It is full time and hard work. I don’t think it is stressed enough how hard it is when you interview. It is constant and there is always things to be doing or things to be done. I think the course should have a higher UCAS points criteria or accepting less people due to the fact so many drop out and disheartens everyone when they do. But the course is so so rewarding. Going into placement and having things you learnt in theory click together is the best feeling. Supporting and advocating for women and families is just the best feeling in the world. I have the biggest passion for midwifery and I can’t wait to graduate and make a change in the midwifery world.
