This University is a wonderful place to study, the location is great as it is a short walk into the centre, and the campus is close by but also in an area that is not overflowing with cars or lacks parking spaces. The facilities are brilliant as I am learning a lot here with the various teaching methods available. I feel very comfortable here and looking forward to completing the course. Improvements could be the sports clubs and societies being shared over the two campuses in Exeter as there would need to be a lot of travelling. As many students are studying, there are strains on the timetable, however, there are many long breaks that can influence the travelling of some students, parking and public transport. There is only one cafe at St Luke's, so if there are long breaks, there is not much around to do, especially if that cafe is full. Maybe some more chilling areas, or activities to do within the day?

I am enjoying the course with the varied amount of subjects and content; the course is taught in class with occasional online hours with a lecturer, otherwise, it is independent study time. The amount of hours is good as it allows the full development of skills and knowledge throughout the years. Many different lecturers give another viewpoint and their knowledge and experiences can be utilised and applied to our learning. The worst aspect would be the timetable breaks, the timetable showing lesson times but not the breaks, so it can be confusing to when a lesson finishes before the next one but also if there is a brief break.

Tutors and lecturers even well-being very supportive with strong importance truly focused on how mental health and even general health is linked as did always think that before but used to get laughed at for believing so but this has truly been proven by top researchers which truly empathises that there truly is no health without mental health which I have found super interesting as have really started to enjoy the content but practicals is harder but am being supported with that my main piece of advise to prospects students would be to not be afraid to declare having a disability as I have neurodivergency with dcd which I felt ashamed to formally disclose but is also kind of obvious anyway I did so informally but really want to stress the importance of this as was even told that there is nothing wrong with being neurodivergent, St Luke’s campus is also a very nice campus as is pretty much in the city centre it’s kind of old fashioned but very peaceful there isn’t as much to do as Streatham but is only a 45minute walk as you can still access the additional library and other things going on at Streatham as you can still go out in first term but have to get more serious by second term as you have to really prepare for safe Medicate exams and osces as well as placements and sorting out accommodation as you may be placed somewhere else and would really emphasis the importance of good sleep to do well on placements as well as the importance of maintaining professional relationships which can be hard the first time but is my main general advice but the university are supportive with this if you communicate with them which I personally do well at but I do understand if you are a shyer person this can be harder but just really empathise the need for communication as all lecturers are very supportive and even stress the importance of wellbeing which isn’t often really talked about in other courses as they do truly what you to do well and they do seem to care about your health and well-being as is kind of a community sort of vibe as feels very welcoming and would really reccomend Exeter university as is a very warm friendly culture and even feels very safe when you walk in the city centre

Lecturers/ tutors flexible with meetings and seem to pick up patterns very well if you miss lecturers or clinicals they tend to not judge you but just if anything care about your well being which I found very sweet and really enabled myself to be more motivated as is very easy to fall into bad habits the first time at university which would never do again as was just an immature fresher thing which most people do anyway but would never do that again as am more sensible with drinking but just empathise to truly be sensible with clinicals and try to not miss any as you really will miss out on important information and even if you do happen to do so I would reccomend studying the content on ele with clinical skills.net as you will have a basic understanding of what was taught but the course hours are varied as you do have a couple days independent study with some 9:30 start to 16:30 but depends on the day with some clinical stimulation days but was honestly shocked at how much time you get with personal tutors as more academic courses you only meet them once in 3yrs which was really nice as feels supportive and know how to improve academic performance

Easy enough to find part time work as the guild offer part time work with the advisory boards which are beneficial as are a couple times a term if you ever get bored as they don’t take too much commitment and can even add this on your CV, there are also opportunities to get involved with Exeter award which I would do but just unfortunately don’t have the time with the academic study I set myself to do of my own back as am trying to find part time hca work after the break to gain more experience, Exeter is also very friendly as a small city and social which dosnet really feel like a city as have never felt unsafe at any moment and even am more statistically vulnerable with that as thankfully have never felt in that way and would really reccomend Exeter as you will always feel safe or at least most people do tend to look out for each other as there is still enough to do obviously not as much as larger cities like london or Cardiff but is still enough going on as a student but even the location is ideal as is in city centre as didn’t have to walk far in the morning as is even in a peaceful enough area and would really reccomend as you will never really feel scared or intimidated compared to larger cities which have more crime rates you don’t really see that kind of thing at at Luke’s as is much more tame with quieter people with coffee shops as aren’t even any bars on campus but if that is your vibe Streatham campus has pubs on site which is a 45 minute walk away you truly have the taste of both worlds

Very peaceful most of the time as did stay in Streatham before which was much more social and really fun in that sense but was very loud which affected sleep as the noise never used to stop until 5am but didn’t mind that too much as am super chill and a light sleeper whereas my flatmates are much more quiet than myself and was a bit of a culture shock seeing how peaceful this place is which has been kind of nice as can sleep better at times as do have a bigger bed and own shower which is nice but do miss having a cleaner do this for me but has enabled myself to be better with time management as am only a 10 minute walk away from lecturers and clinicals which really helps as aren’t great at getting up in the morning and would recommend if you are similar with this, even security are very protective of ladies and estate patrol are available 24/7 as there is also safe zone if you ever feel uncomfortable which I must stress the importance of as some people are not aware , however if you do not want a peaceful living experience then I would recommend Streatham campus to live on if you can get up an hour earlier than expected to walk down as that is very social and loud but may not be ideal if you have clinicals as I must truly empathise the need for good sleep which have learnt my lesson from as Rowancroft may be more suitable for those instances I get it’s more if a ghost town in that sense compared to Streatham as you may feel as though you are missing out but is honestly a 45 minute walk as don’t have to really miss out anyway as can in a sense have your own safe space as we do all need time to ourselves every now and then.
