The people and city were their best part for me always a lot to do and experience. The worst was probably the issues with money, balancing a job alongside uni has been tough, and sometimes compromises my uni work.

The best thing about UWE is its excellent workshops and facilities. As a Graphic Design student, I’ve had the opportunity to learn a lot of new techniques, such as using the Riso printer, silkscreen printing, letterpress, embossing, and more. The resources available really help expand my skills. It's hard to think of a downside, but if I had to mention one, it would be the lack of a travel card for students. Since UWE has multiple campuses, and I study at Arnolfini, I often need to travel to Frenchay or Bower Ashton for printing or to use the library. The travel cost adds up, with a return fare being £2.16 each way. It would be great if the university could provide a travel card or support for students who frequently need to commute between campuses.

My course is taught through a blend of in-class and practical learning, which I find really beneficial as a Graphic Design student. The course hours are well-structured, with a mix of scheduled classes, independent study time, and workshop access. Contact with lecturers is generally good, they are approachable and supportive, providing valuable feedback during tutorials and studio sessions. However, sometimes it can be challenging to get quick responses via email due to their busy schedules. Overall, the blended approach works well, especially for a creative course where practical learning is essential.
