I have had the most incredible time whilst studying at Exeter - and would highly recommend it to anyone thinking of going there....

Tell us about your overall university experience so far.

I have had the most incredible time whilst studying at Exeter - and would highly recommend it to anyone thinking of going there. The sports was a huge highlight for me - whether that be, being part of a hockey team and bonding of playing matches, or going out and socialising with my team on a Wednesday night .. or going with friends to watch our football and rugby varsities. I made life long friends here, as I found it incredibly easy to find like-minded people.

Job Prospects

How does your uni make efforts to increase your employability (careers department, work placements, transferable skills)?

There are careers fairs that take place all the time, there is the career zone which you can talk to at any point - very useful.

Course and Lecturers

What do you like most and least about the way your course(s) are taught?

The lecturers are really impressive as a lot of them have worked in the field that they are lecturing you on - so they have great insight into what you are learning making it more memorable and fun.

Students' Union

What do you think of your Students' Union in terms of student representation and facilities?

My students union is great - I like seeing what they have changed for the students.. however I was never involved personally with them.

Accommodation

What do you think about the safety, condition, location and cost of your accommodation?

My housing is amazing, we had double beds, en suites and catered food in a dinning room shared with other halls which allowed me to meet loads of different people

Uni Facilities

How good are your university's facilities?

Incredibly good - the sports facilities are amazing. We have multiple Astro turfs to play hockey on and we have the outdoor swimming pool in the summer time and we have the incredible gym (slightly more expensive that students would like.. but it has amazing equipment). And in terms of studying, in the science department thy have a lot of high-tech equipment, that is extremely useful whilst doing projects.

Local life

Is your university in a good location in terms of distance to accommodation and local amenities?

I love the city because it's not too small or too big. So you feel safe going out on a night out. There's a range of places to eat, drink and do activities - for example the river Exe is just down the road where you can go kayaking.

Societies and Sports

How would you rate the variety of societies/sports?

There's such a huge number of clubs in the uni, I joined a few which I had an amazing time in - meeting new people (snow sports), perfecting a new skill (Wakeboarding), pushing myself by teaching a dance class for dance soc. Additionally I co-founded the natural sciences society.

Student Support

How good is the support offered by the uni? Think both academic (tutors/feedback) and personal (counselling, etc).

Great support - I had a tutor who I was able to go and speak to at any point regarding both my academic and personal problems.
