The rooms weren't very nice and kitchen was dodgy

The student support services have improved over the years. While there are still some issues, I have not had a problem with the support services when I have dealt with them. There is plenty of space on campus to study, with power connections and wifi, both communal study spaces and more quiet ones. During exam seasons, I am always able to find a space to study. The library staff are friendly and helpful when you ask for assistance. While it can be a bit intimidating at first, when you get used to all the different spaces on campus, you can always find a good space to have lunch, study, or chat with friends. There is often events on in the student union which makes it an interesting place to be. The regular social media and email updates mean that I am always able to find out what's going on. Leeds, as a city, also has lots going on. I love the variety of arts and music events, whether it be orchestra concerts, jazz bars, or art installations. There's always lots to do and not enough time to do it in.

The student support has improved since my first year there. The disability support has always been great and I have found my lecturers very open to questions and extra help. Information about modules and assessments could be worded in a clearer way so that we can fully grasp the task at hand. Reliance on group projects for certain modules made it difficult to be able to control how much work was put into something and therefore the grade didn't feel like it fully reflected individual student's work. I think there isn't enough management of groups in group projects or systems in place to catch when certain members of the group aren't helping The amount of resources available at the library is really great for assignments, and the staff at the library are really helpful and friendly when you ask for assistance. The course content has variety which is interesting. As there aren't many required modules, you can choose which area of study you are most interested in a focus on that area.

Security was not very good. We had a few break ins that the security didn't deal with very well. It was nice to have the laundry place nearby and the grass area outside was lovely for picnics. The pathways outside the residences weren't kept very well though: there were times where there was broken glass everywhere which I felt was pretty dangerous. The residence team was very helpful when it came to accommodating my specific needs as a disabled student dealing with long term health conditions. It was easy to apply for additional help, and they provided everything I requested in my room.
