It is always so lively and busy with something going on and the people are always great. There is sometimes no seating available

Course content covered is very thorough and well taught but some facilities are not always able to book due to demand

Queen's has been really good at helping students with the cost of living crisis, providing food and mental health and well-being actives and seminars. They have also made sure that period products are provided in the female bathrooms which is so important for the rising issue of period poverty. The student's union is great! For not having access to the new SU until second year of my degree, I appreciate it so much more, it has some beautiful, study spots especially for students who like a bit of atmosphere and buzz about them while studying. Staff are also really approachable around campus. Overall, I have really enjoyed my time as a student at QUB.

I have really enjoyed my performance and songwriting modules as the practical work was very beneficial to me. I have found that subjects that are solely powerpoint based are harder to enjoy, as a lot of it we could teach ourselves. However, lecturers are helpful and will call on teams or set up an in person meaning if we have any queries. The course covers a range of topics from Irish traditional music to sound recording and production to improvisation and music psychology or film studies. Although, I think it would be very helpful if the music courses focused slightly more on modern music industry in Belfast. I find it very interesting learning about the music history and how it all came to be but I think it would also be beneficial to learn about how we can enter into the music industry here. I also think it would be helpful if we could run events within music classes to invite the public to, that would be well promoted by the university to showcase their students.

Belfast is a great place for students and is very welcoming to anyone!

I loved my 2 years in Derryvolgie as I met so many friends and course mates within the accommodation. It was definitely the right move to live near QUB rather than at home as I could walk very easily to class. The halls are cleaned by a cleaner every day and having a shared kitchen was so fun to meet new people! In addition, the halls had communal areas to play pool, table tennis, piano, watch tv in the lounge etc.
