In first year, I really enjoyed going to the O2 academy on Wednesday nights to party! This made the week go by quicker. In second year, I haven’t been able to go there as much due to having manic deadline due in at random times over the first semester. When studying, you can use the library - which is massive. I’ve haven’t used it too often as I prefer working from home, but when I did it was atmospheric and kept me focused on my work. Only recently during 2nd year, I’ve been unable to get a WiFi signal here. However I should probably ask someone about that. Living in the Village Halls (specifically the Pavilions) was really enjoyable as I made lots of friends with people on my course there. There were times when the fire alarm would go off at night, but this never happened in our building (Kilby). There is a uni gym very close to these, which was amazing. As of writing this, I’m currently living in town in a house of 6. It’s not the nicest of areas, but the house itself is really nice. When deciding on living with friends for accommodation, be weary about if they’re clean - as there will be issues further into the semester of your second year. I’m part of the Glee club which is an enjoyable society. The Student Union itself is alright. They are very nice people, but we’ve had a lack of communication from them regarding our Glee showcases. The actual course I’m studying (Biological Sciences: Neuroscience ) is not what I thought it was going to be. I understand that there would be other aspects to it due to being a biology course, but considering there are 3 modules (out of 10) over the course of 3 semesters that have involved neuroscience in anyway has been a bit displeasing. The lectures themselves are nice, but I’ve faced issues with them - specifically being treated like children. I don’t think they understand that we’ve all signed up for this degree as adults and that if we get answers wrong in non-sumatic questions (TopHat), we will go over it in our own time. Overall, I’ve been happy with the friendships I’ve made along the course, and am interested in the Neuroscience part of the course. However, I’m not the fondest of the lecturers and the areas of the course that I’m not a fan of - which is to be expected.

Enjoying it. Everyone is super friendly

Everything is good - especially the library. The shuttle bus services isn't great though
