Portsmouth Uni is full of such supportive individuals. I had started as foundation year but asked to move to first year which they considered and approved after an interview. Since then I’ve been given so much support from my lectures and I’m really enjoying the course. I have had issues with another student and after discussing with my classmates, I found it wasn’t just me. I am now speaking to the leader of the course to help to resolve this and the process of reporting has been very smooth. I am not hoping to get this person in trouble, just hoping to get them to stop. Support for ND students has also been great. Only thing I would say is that there often is a lack of classrooms meaning we have long walks between lectures and can sometimes end up late (Even the lecturers)! I am part of the climbing society which have really lovely people and the facilities at the sport center for climbing is great. Overall I would really consider Portsmouth Uni, especially if you’re taking Languages, as they have been outstanding. I never thought I’d go to uni, I was undiagnosed ADHD until 2021 but they have done nothing but lift me up here and for once in my life I actually feel like I am somewhat intelligent and that this is what I was always supposed to do.

I really enjoy the fact that this is a mostly in person course, with languages I think it’s important to practice in person. There are many places to study independently or as a group especially in the library. The lecturers also give their time in a ”language corner” to help you stay on top of the languages aspect of things. Everything on this course I believe is extremely relevant (unlike the foundation year which is very vague) and I have been enjoying the classes. There is a lot of in depth discussion and you can really tell the lecturers love their job.

There is real support for students but you have to look for it and I don't think it is clear for everyone that the support is present without having to search for it through all the websites available. Maybe there could be something said about the facilities and group available from the first day on the course.

I think the course is great but there is just a lot to do at some points compared to other times. I believe it could be better spread across time instead of having all the deadlines at the same point.
