Very clean and well laid out campus, sitting not really far from social areas and with good transport connections within the campus. Student Union does a good job of regularly hosting events with a lot of different societies for anyone to get involved in. All societies are friendly and welcoming as even joining half way through the year, you'll still fit in. Though some societies are a bit cliquey and it's hard to break through that. Lots of student support depending on who you get but you can always request a transfer of persons if you're not being supported how you think you should be. Overall, a good university to be at considering all the others that I looked at.

A decent course with a few bits of interesting topic here and there but sometimes falls short of what could be looked it within Modern History. The classification date of 1850 and onwards really makes the course suffer as previous periods could start in 1700 and move into more modern times. Eitherway, contact with the tutors is there if you want it with decent time after lectures or with an email to set up a meeting. Tutors themselves are very friendly and great with enthusiasm in their courses, so any questions to them and sign of interest makes them shine. There is the occasional word out for Humanities students in regards to careers and internships with guest panels which can help you decide what you want to do after uni.

Stands a bit far from the campus but if you make use of the first year bus pass for being in halls then you're okay to get up to Uni quick enough. The rooms and kitchens themselves are good quality but the social atmosphere might not be the best and loudest if you're looking for that. My year during COVID really didn't help, so that might have changed. Anything that was broken would promptly be fixed and there was no gross issues within my block. Being one of the cheapest with en-suites, this really was a good choice for my first year.

Communication with students is so needed to be improved - it’s been difficult to have clear communication with lecturers and the uni overall.
