The lecturers and other staff are super helpful and friendly. If possible, the timetable's interface in canvas could be modified to always show the course the student is studying. It's sometimes tiring to have to always select the course from the list. Increasing the number of bus services available on time for the morning lectures would be great!

Internship opportunities available for postgraduate students could be increased. It would also be nice if there are opportunities open to volunteer with any relevant NGOs related to my course.

Swansea University's location is one of the many factors that contributes to the unique Swansea feeling. Having the beach on your doorstep, alongside the scenic Singleton Park and neighbouring Kilvey Hill, Gower Coastline, and Brecon Beacons, means that there is no shortage of fresh air opportunities to destress and enjoy the great outdoors. The campus university nature of Swansea means that everything you need is in one place, meaning the university has a true community feel where many academic and social groups combine. In my experience the department is filled with a myriad of experts who are approachable and willing to provide support both in lectures and virtually via emails.

The course covers a range of topics across both the disciplines of Geography and Biosciences allowing many avenues to be explored, allowing a range of skills to be developed from GIS and remote sensing to Habitat Mapping and EIA reporting. The course in taught mainly via lectures, but there are a few field trips which allow for learning in a more practical manner. A particular highlight of the course has been the Stackpole residential field trip.

Swansea is an incredibly affordable city from housing to public transport and grocery shopping. There is an abundance of part time work opportunities, both at the university either working for the student's union in one of their shops and bars, or as a student ambassador. Alternatively, there are many shops and bars in the city centre that employ students. Swansea has won a Purple Flag which aims to raise standards and improve the quality of towns and cities between the hours of 5.00pm and 5.00am. Swansea is the only place in Wales to hold all Blue, Green and Purple flags currently and only one of a handful of places in the UK to hold them all.

Living on campus was extremely convenient, being only a few minutes walk from lectures and practical sessions. The ensuite rooms are modern and have plenty of storage space for clothes and other belongings. The room was equipped with a phone which was able to call through to the accommodation services team and security which led to easy resolution of any issues. Our kitchen had three lots of fridge space and 2 lots of freezer space for 8 students, with plenty of cupboard space each.
