Bournemouth is a great university given its location - close to the beach, New Forest and town centre. It has great links to surrounding cities including Southampton, Winchester and Portsmouth so it is very accessible. The new building for HSS students is very modern and technologically-advanced which makes learning a great experience. The staff at BU are supportive, approachable and will help students in any way they can to ensure the best learning experience. Staff are also responsive to feedback and will try to accomodate any constructive criticism to ensure students are getting the most from their studies.

I really enjoy the blended learning approach. It is so useful having lectures via Zoom and then seminars in person. The worst part of the course was when all nursing students were timetabled lectures in person. This meant hundreds of students were in the lecture theatre - some were rude and just talked through lectures which made it really hard to listen to and follow the content. It would be good if all lectures (wherever possible) stayed online and then seminars are face-to-face. The course content is great. I like the 50-50 split between theory and placement. The placement opportunites are diverse and really help to shape you as an aspirant healthcare professional. Lecturers have really made themselves available in the past year of studies which is useful given I am close to qualifying.

Amazing location, the beach is stunning and the market is great especially at Christmas.

My course is mostly in person which is great. The skills labs are really good. So far I’ve had no trouble with contacting lecturers and tutors by e-mail

The WiFi is great and my room is a good size with my own bathroom. In the kitchen they provide a Hoover,mop and kettle however there is no toaster or iron (there is an ironing board) which is kind of annoying but you’ll need to buy those things for future life anyway. I’m a three minute walk to the lansdown campus which is great as all my lectures are in there but if you are at Talbot the bus stop is just across the road and it’s a 10 minute journey
