Best: course, social events, student life, student support. Worst: halls (could be better), location (a bit far and secluded).

Best: course hours, facilities, content, lecturers. Worst: tutor contact time (could be better).

Best: room allocation, safety, value for money (cheap). Worst: wi-fi (only works in my room).

Bangor is very small for a city, so it isn't the most exciting place. There's also nothing notably unpleasent about it. North Wales in general is very scenic, but is difficult to travel without a car due to there being huge, empty spaces between populated areas. The Engineering School itself is adequate, and contains specialist equipment such as a clean room, 3D printers and robot arms. The uni prides itself on its variety of societies, but funding for these is currently being reduced, so it's unclear if that will always be the case.

The Engineering school has a mix of different qualities for both content and lecturers. Generally, the course content is relevent to my work and the lecturers are great. There are not many exceptions to this. The groups for electronics engineering are not typically very large, so lecturers are able to answer questions and are also available outside of lecture times with prior arrangement. The Engineering School has all the facilities necessary for my work

Due to having cleaning staff and facilities such as an on-site gym, living in Ffriddoedd is more expensive than living elsewhere in Bangor. Living in halls in general is not worth this kind of expense, as you will be living with 7 other people in your dorm as well as the people above and below you. They may ruin your halls experience by playing music through a speaker all night, leaving the dorm a mess or stealing your food and kitchen equipment. It's unlikely that of 0 of these 7 people will be indecent. The uni has a policy of taking punitive action against people who ruin Halls for everybody else, but in practice there's not much they can do. Don't go into Halls, regardless of what uni you go to. I've never had any problems with systems used to pay rent. The campus has its own security and the wifi is very fast. There's bike shelters on campus, but I'm told bikes and bike parts are stolen from these fairly routinely.
