The University of Birmingham is an excellent place to study, with a really beautiful campus. The staff are great and helpful, and there is plenty of student support. Some of the facilities can be a bit old and falling apart though.

The MBChB course is taught in-class and is 5 years. It is split into pre-clinical (Y1-2) and clinical (Y3-5). They give you plenty of time to ask questions and consolidate the knowledge, using a spiral curriculum. Anatomy is not taught very well though, and we use prosection instead of dissection.

The accommodation I was in was very nice and modern, although a bit pricey. It is in a good location, only a 5-minute walk from the medical school and main campus. Things do get broken quite frequently, but the staff are extremely quick in remedying the situation.

Some lecturers are good it’s a bit of a mixed bag. You do have a personal academic tutor but meet once a semester i think

Flat was dirty when i first arrived. WiFi is wishy washy. For the price you get its not bad
