Staff are really friendly and always willing to spend extra time supporting our learning. The facilities used for teaching are high level and always ready to be used. The library is unfortunately not open 24/7. SU is small but cafe has nice, reasonable priced food however not open late. There are some events but not many and they can be expensive or not have high availability limiting the number who can take part. Student life is relatively quiet. Student night (wednesday) is slightly more lively but generally go into Newcastle for an event. Accommodation is nice, however washing facilities are only open 9am-9pm which is difficult around lectures and studying, and reception only open 9-5 so difficult to collect parcels

All teaching is in person with high contact hours. Lots of practical sessions and time for induvidual feedback. Facilities are of a high level creating a supportive learning environment. Staff and tutors are always willing to spend more time supporting us on difficult subject areas

Very good value for money. Accommodation is well sized with enough facilities for the 6 people in my flat. Occasionally the showers flood, but this problem is quickly rectified by security staff. Laundry facilities are only open 9am-9pm and only 4 washers and 4 dryers for all of the accommodation which is difficult, especially at the weekend

I enjoy the university a lot! Lovely environment and the staff are so kind My only problem is the way they don’t like advertising our Islamic events because it doesn’t sit with their values and always have something to say against us, ignoring our own values. The food in the uni is expensive and not halal. Other than that I enjoy Sunderland alot.

The lecturers listen to our feedback and care about us, a lot of them bother with learning your names and are easy to talk to and approach. Some aren’t good at responding to their emails, but you can always chat with them if your struggling. The medical school does teach you a lot of irrelevant stuff at times (2 hour lecture on sexuality and gender fluidity, 2 hour practical on a rat ileum, and the research that one lecturer did for his phd) but besides that the teaching is good.
