Student support is top notch, no doubt. Events and clubs to join aplenty. I always get things recommended in my newsfeed. Engaging classes. Buildings are really cool, facilities for learning, as well as libraries (they better be with the tuition fee costs). However, they retired the free ‘Brighton Uni’ ‘UB1’ bus based on (I’m paraphrasing here) “not enough people were soliciting it “ and word for word saying (this is from the email I got from the uni about the discontinuation of the bus) “ feedback has highlighted that many students found that the service did not meet their needs for travel between sites for teaching and learning” which I find very strange since it was a FREE, designed and designated service for students and staff to use, for the sole purpose of going to and from campus/facilities/town?? Not taking into consideration that they didn’t advertise it properly, every time I used that bus, it was full, still. I suppose they saw the money actually going towards something beneficial and decided to cut it. That opens a whole new can of worms, considering in 2023 the university cut 103 staff jobs causing a massive strike. I wonder who the manager is? Us students and (I imagine) professors are hoping someone competent and not money crazy will one day come to make things right.

Staff really friendly, good resources and facilities

taught in really easily digestible increments, staff are engaging

electrics would constantly go out, smoke would come out of electricals (oven, tv, plugs) that weren't on, plugs exploded and staff were really patronising about the whole thing and offered us no compensation despite us not feeling safe in our accommodation, losing whole lots of shopping due to the fridge not working and not being able to cook food due to the power cuts (this went on for a good week or so). reported other site issues and staff wouldn't come to fix them but would say they'd completed the task. if you ignore this, rooms were nice and spacious and had good facilities
