The best part of my uni experience has been the support and opportunities available if you actually go looking for them. The lecturers and tutors are knowledgeable, and most of the teaching staff are approachable in office hours. The campus has good facilities, especially the library and study spaces, and there’s a lot going on socially so it’s easy to meet people and settle in. I’ve also enjoyed the practical side of the course because it helps link the theory to real engineering problems. The main downside is consistency. Some modules are organised really well, but others feel a bit rushed, with unclear instructions and last-minute changes. Feedback can sometimes take a while and isn’t always detailed enough to help you improve.

The best part of my course is that it’s genuinely interesting and you get a good mix of theory and practical work. The labs, workshops and design-style assignments help you understand how the maths and physics actually apply to real engineering problems. Most lecturers know their stuff and if you ask questions in tutorials or office hours they’re helpful. I also like that the course starts building skills you’ll need for industry, like teamwork, report writing and using engineering software. The worst part is that the organisation can be inconsistent between modules.
