The SU is excellent and deserves its title as the best in the country. Facilities are generally excellent but there is often a lack of space during exam/deadline periods. Personally, my experiences with student support haven’t been great, but we’re mostly during the Covid pandemic and therefore I’d imagine services were busier than usual.

Course content is mixed, with some very interesting modules as well as some very dull and seemingly unimportant (eg MAS220 Abstract Algebra). I have had no support in securing an internship or placement, and very little in terms of career planning. I have not met with my personal tutor since early in 2nd year, and he did not respond to my nowt recent email enquiring about module choices.

The halls were very expensive compared to other accommodation in Sheffield, and facilities were clearly outdated. On many occasions the laundry room was flooded, and there were multiple instances of fire alarms and evacuations in the middle of the night.

There is so much to do especially with societies and clubs and there is always something on. The workload has been difficult to adjust to and I think there could be more support

It's really interesting and there is a good amount of contact hours

I made really good friends and the facilities are brilliant but it could be really noisy when trying to sleep
