Queen Mary is a place where every one feels welcomed. As an international student, I had my fair share of doubts while moving across the globe for my masters education, but the students, and staff here have made me feel right at home. Along with that, the best part of uni has to be the location. London is such an interesting place to live in during your 20s, you never run out of things to do after the lectures are done for the day. The worst part about my uni experience would definitely be the lack of home-cooked food over the last couple of months as I’ve developed the habit of surviving off of meal deals!

The course is supposed to be a combination of marketing and consumer psychology. However, the modules focus explicitly on marketing while the aspect of psychology gets sidelined. Apart from the ‘consumer behaviour’ module in the first semester, the subjects are generic and marketing-focused.

Coming from India, it has been quite difficult to adjust to the cold weather here in the UK. According to the accommodation contract, the rooms are supposed to have heating. But, even though the coldest months of the year have passed, the heaters still don’t function. Not only that, there are times when hot water supply is interrupted. While the location is convenient in terms of proximity to the uni, the area is unsafe in general, with several of my friends reporting terrifying incidences of robberies, etc. Plus points- The residences team organises several events for the students which are generally fun to attend. Also, its a great place to make international friends.
