All of the accomodations are within walking distance of the uni buildings, and the buildings themselves are clean and relatively well maintained. There isn't much to do in portsmouth itself (unless you have alot to spend), but that is easily made up for by society events which are often free or discounted. :)

Lecturers are all very nice, and seminar teachers let you attend classes earlier or later in the week in case you're unable to make it to the one on your timetable. The course hours are perfect/not too long and lectures are always happy to speak with you after lectures or even to schedule meetings with students for help with content.

Hall is quite affordable, and there are no pests (spiders, ants, mice, silverfish) The cafeteria food is consistent and always hot. The accomodation can get quite cold in winter, especially the kitchen. The worst part is by far the shared kitchen, the facilities are fine, but be aware you're sharing this with the whole floor....often resulting in uncleaned messes and old food in fridges. The cleaning staff are wonderful and do their best however.

I’m personally a studying at the University of Portsmouth as an exchange student and so far, the best aspect of my uni experience is how diverse the environment is. I’m constantly amazed at how inclusive the university is and how strong their support towards the students.

Starting from the lecturer, to the modules, this course is meticulously designed to shape our critical thinking, which I think is very relevant to what the industry needs.

I had concerns before moving in because of the lack of information the university had regarding my specific hall. But so far, staying at Burrell House has genuinely been one of my best decisions. In fact, I’ve made some friends for a lifetime through staying here.
