My university experience was a mixture of personal growth, unforgettable moments, and challenges. On the positive side, university gave me the freedom and independence I had never experienced before. Managing my own schedule, making decisions, and handling my finances were all part of the process that helped me grow. The friendships I formed during this time were some of the best I’ve ever had. Late-night study sessions, random hangouts, and shared experiences created lasting bonds. Academically, I had the chance to explore subjects I was passionate about, and some professors truly inspired me, pushing me to think critically. Extracurricular activities were another highlight, giving me the chance to develop new skills and engage in exciting opportunities. The social scene, with house parties, student union events, and nights out, was equally fun and provided a much-needed break from the academic pressures.
However, university wasn’t without its struggles. The academic pressure could be overwhelming, with constant deadlines and exams causing stress. At times, I felt the weight of needing to perform well, and imposter syndrome crept in, especially surrounded by so many brilliant and ambitious people. Financially, university was tough, and balancing rent, food, and social life on a student budget often meant missing out on experiences. There were moments of loneliness, especially in the beginning when I was adjusting to a new environment. The pressure to figure out my future while managing everything else at once could be overwhelming, and sometimes I felt unsure about my career path compared to others who seemed to have it all figured out.
In the end, though, my time at university was transformative. It wasn’t always easy, but it provided invaluable experiences, skills, and memories that I’ll carry with me for the rest of my life. It taught me resilience, gave me lifelong friends, and ultimately prepared me for life beyond the university.

Course rating
Course rating
The best aspects of my course included a blend of in-class and online learning, which provided flexibility while maintaining engagement with professors and peers. The small group seminars were particularly valuable as they allowed for direct interaction with lecturers. The overall structure of the course, which combined assignments, exams, and projects, catered to different learning styles.
Lecturers were generally approachable and offered office hours and informal drop-in sessions. They were responsive to student needs, which enhanced the learning experience. However, the course also had its challenges. The packed schedule left little room for extracurricular activities or breaks, leading to occasional burnout. Additionally, some lecturers had limited availability, and personalized feedback on assignments was sometimes slow, making it difficult to improve quickly.
The online learning platforms could also be problematic; they were not always user-friendly and occasionally experienced technical glitches, particularly during transitions between in-person and virtual learning. Despite these drawbacks, the overall experience was rewarding, with the flexibility and support from lecturers being significant positives.

University halls
What do you think about the safety, condition, location and cost of your accommodation?
What I appreciated most about the university's halls was the convenience and community atmosphere. Living on campus made life much easier—I was just a short walk from lectures, libraries, and all the campus amenities. The social aspects were fantastic as well; there was always something happening, whether it was a gathering in the flat, events organized by the hall team, or spontaneous hangouts with people from diverse backgrounds. The shared kitchens and common areas were ideal for meeting new people, creating a mini-community within the larger university setting.
On the other hand, what I liked least was the value for money. The rent for the halls was relatively high, especially considering some of the basic amenities provided. The rooms were decent but often felt a bit outdated—particularly the furniture, which was functional but not very comfortable. Additionally, the kitchen facilities could be a bit cramped when everyone was cooking at the same time, and there was a shortage of storage space, making it challenging to stay organized. Lastly, some of the halls were quite noisy, which made it difficult to concentrate, especially during exam periods. Despite these drawbacks, the sense of community and the convenience of the location definitely compensated for the downsides.
