University of Aberdeen, is located at a beautiful place whilst people in it are also beautiful in and out. As a student coming from another end of the world, this place made me feel home. The compassionate nature of professors and the fun and fuzzy sense of students, didn’t make me feel homesick, but the cold Scottish weather got me sick. University of Aberdeen is a great place to study, due to the legacy it holds, and the reputation of the university made me want to study here. The other reason for me to choose UoA is because of Scotland as Robert Burns is my personal favourite poet, learning his legacy and literature at his own place (Scotland) is my dream. The professors at the university, are too kind and supportive they even offer pastoral care, as an international student I find it really helpful about it. The Student services provided are efficient and effective, I tried one of their classes and it was really helpful. I’d like to conclude my experience by saying that, it has been only 3 weeks of starting university but it already feels very good, and I would highly recommend UoA to my family and friends.

I am studying Masters of letters in English language and literature, the classes duration is for 2 hours and the professors keep the class engaging. For my course it is in class learning and we do lot of research and study. Professors carefully scaffold me. It is more of a seminar method of teaching with group discussions where different group of minds express and explore different perspectives of the topic.

The faculty LLMVC is incredibly supportive, and the campus facilities, especially the library, are excellent. There’s a real sense of community here.

The transition to Masters level has been intellectually rewarding; the small seminar sizes allow for incredibly deep theoretical engagement. My supervisor has been instrumental in shaping my dissertation.
