The lectures are good an helpful, and we get frequent emails about possible opportunities/ talks we are able to attend in regards to our future career aspects. On my specific course however there isnt much information on internships or work placements. For TESOL i wish there would be more content on how to actually teach.

The room itself had everything i needed an was very modern which i liked , the kitchen was also very big and a nice space to hang out. They also included extra facilities like a game room and gym which i used often.

Everyone at YSJ seems to get along with one another and its such a friendly campus. With the campus being so small, it makes it easy to get from lesson to lesson. The campus itself is in the city centre which is great for commuters. All of my lecturers have always been a listening ear and I feel as though I could go to them with personal issues as well as academic issues. The student union is great, they host many events weekly and they also have a good relationship with the sports and societies at YSJ. The only criticism is the queues for the dining hall on a lunch time- which I suppose is to be expected.

My course is fully on campus, and has been since the beginning of my studying here. I feel as though I have really benefitted from this as a lot of my course requires discussion- which I imagine would be quite difficult in a online teaching setting. I have 3 hours per week, per module. I feel this amount of contact hours is effective as it allows me to have time to do independent studying as well as socialising.

What do you think about the safety, condition, location and cost of your accommodation?
My uni halls were situated right in York’s city centre, so was perfect for everything. The rooms itself was of a good size, and I had my own bathroom. It wasn’t as noisy as I thought it was going to be-which is a positive. We paid around £150 a week for the accommodation on a 42 week contract- I think it was very good value for money.
