The best is absolutely the day-to-day on campus for me. It’s a wonderful environment with a real sense of community, it’s an easy campus to navigate and the environment in each classroom is inviting. My lecturers and other staff in my department are fantastic. The worst is probably the lack of support. It exists, but it’s not obvious, and especially in the MFL department, I struggle to feel like my needs are able to be accommodated. Staff are willing to help direct you to the mental health services, which are good but do take concerted effort. Overall, not a very pastoral environment, which is, of course, absolutely fine for many people, but not everyone.

The worst part is the amount of online and collaborative learning. I do not enjoy that and prefer to work alone. The best part is the content itself. It is fiercely fascinating to me.

The worst part is the distance from campus. It’s good psychologically to ‘walk home,’ but I had mobility needs last year that did not benefit from this. Or the fact that the lift was broken for four months, I was on the top floor, and it was only fixed a week before the end of the year. It is also not connected to public transport at all. The best part is the facilities are very high quality.
