The university has everything a student can need. Moreover, the placement of the university is perfect too. Just 30 minute walking distance to the town, and have two bus stops located one on the inside and the other just outside. transportation from the university and to the university is very easy. As an international student coming back or leaving with huge suitcases are very hard and by having a bus stop near it helps me immensely. Furthermore, the student union really supports its students. Having weekly parties, freebies, counsellors to talk to, and many more. I certainly feel like a part of this big community/family and I am so grateful that I made the choice of choosing Reading. The city of Reading is an amazing place to live as well. I think Reading has the perfect balance of study life and party life. In the mornings everything is calm and nice and at nights it’s a very fun and great night out! I have visited my friends that go to other universities, such as Brighton and Brunel, however, I didn’t get the same happy vibes I get from Reading- neither from the city nor university. I have met a few final year students whom are from big cities such as London said that they got bored of Reading by their 3rd year, but I personally don’t see how that is possible. I am planning on studying masters too and I can’t imagine a better place but University of Reading to do that. I am very happy with the staff and the city. Being thousands of miles away from my home and family was really hard, but Reading really has become my second home and whenever I go back home, I miss my new home and can’t wait to come back here.

I am very happy with most of my lecturers and very happy with my academic tutor, Jane Settler. She is always there for help and guidance. I had one or two lecturers that I wasn’t satisfied with. additionally, because I am doing foundation the class majority is Literature students therefore we do more literature based course work and as a linguistics student, I can’t say I am very happy with that.

The location of the halls is absolutely amazing. I am not far yet too close to everything. I work at bars and dining and since McCombie is very close to Park Bar/Eat I work there all the time and coming back home after a closing shift has never been easier. There were a few complaints about mold in our flat. Fortunately I haven’t had any but most people had. There were a few problems that arouse in our kitchen within the first weeks of uni, such as the tray hangers on the side of the oven fell down in our first use. As well as one of the freezers had to be defrosted for a few days because it suddenly got covered in ice and the peoples foods in there some of them went bad because of it.
