I think the Uni is very well organised and accessible, with lots of student centred activities on every day. The library is excellent with an incredible range of resources available both physically and online. The printing resources available are also incredibly helpful with a per-semester allocated budget helping massively and removing the worry of not being able to afford to print. However I think the support lecturers provide for students and their response to student feedback should be improved. Some modules are poorly structured, taught differently to how they were described in their module overview and when issues are mentioned the staff haven’t dealt with things appropriately. This has caused some to feel ignored and less motivated in certain modules. Inexperienced staff should not be teaching first year MA students, they should have a few years of teaching under the belt before being allowed to teach postgraduate classes.

There are a diverse range of modules on offer and a good balance of compulsory and optional modules to choose from. However some module description are very different to the actual taught module and should be more accurately described so students can make a more informed decision. There are also not enough modules focused specifically on my degree topic, at times I feel as thought I am doing a general ‘Linguistics’ MA rather than an psycholinguistic MA as we have hardly covered anything from this specific field.
