They have a brilliant support system and wonderful AUSA members who have put their all into displaying care for the students. The faculty in my department are very understanding and despite striking (rightly so because they are being heavily mistreated), they still want what is best for their students too and have sacrificed a lot. Some facilities need to be modernised, especially the toilets as they feel old and bizarre. The university also need to work on offering better and more affordable vegetarian/vegan food options for their students. Especially considering that Aberdeen is the 7th biggest city for vegan people in the UK. We also need more locations for student interactions on campus. Because our student hub is so small, it means that people sometimes use the library as a social spot and disturb others.

The best part is how educated our lecturers are and how receptive they are to feedback. The course hours are all reasonable and I feel that I can come to my tutors with any issues or questions. I think my course would benefit from letting us know more about career prospects. As students in humanities/social sciences, it can be really easy to feel like you are doing your course for nothing. This is not because the courses aren't worth anything but rather that we have always eben told this - that STEM matters and everything else does not. Also on my year abroad, I secured an internship but this was mainly my own doing. Internships and traineeships were not advised as much and it made us think that our only option was studying.

It was located near to campus which was great but it was also far away from the city center which meant that for a year, I only visited the main center like 6 times. My block was close to a river so was victim to A LOT of flies. Every day would be an effort to get rid of them just for our efforts to be undone within three hours. When we approached admin, they did nothing at all and told us to invest in a fly spray. Considering we were paying to stay there, I found their comments to be out of place. The rest of the staff was amazing though - I loved that they had people onsite 24/7 who were willing to listen to any problems. All the entertainment amenities were fun too.
