It is a great place to study as it is a lovely campus and only a short walk into the city centre where you have everything you could possibly need, from endless restaurants, bars, shopping and more!
The SU is great with many different cafes, and places to eat and socialise and we have an O2 academy on campus that hosts the society/ sports night out on a Wednesday but also has lots of other interesting events throughout the year! The societies you can join are also endless, with something for every interest and need, and are an amazing way to make lifelong friends.
In terms of studying, the professors and lecturers, in my experience, are all so friendly and make studying at university as enjoyable as possible. They are very helpful when things get a bit tough, whether it be for personal reasons, exams, or anything that worries you.
UoL has two sports centres, Danielle Brown, which is located on main campus, and The Roger Bettles Centre, which is located in Oadby, which is a short walk from the Oadby university accommodation. Both centres have gyms, a pool, a sauna and a sports hall, and RB has outdoor courts and pitches as well. However, as a sportswoman, I believe Leicester's facilities could be improved. Both Sports halls are slightly outdated and could do with some new and improved equipment, more spectator seating and more indoor courts.
Overall, I think University of Leicester is a great university that ticks all the boxes you could want and need when thinking of the ideal all-round university experience!

I think the courses that are offered and the staff that teach are both amazing. In my experience, I have been given so much guidance and help throughout my 4 years at university, whether it be when I am struggling to understand a topic or when trying to get internships or career advice, UoL is amazing at helping you achieve your full potential and allowing you many different opportunities for when your time at university is over.
University halls
What do you think about the safety, condition, location and cost of your accommodation?
I absolutely loved my university halls as it was very clean and a great way to make friends in your first year as so many people were in my hall. My room and flat were both very spacious, a lot more so than I thought they would be which was amazing! The only issue with my hall was the location as you had to get a bus to campus. However, the university has since built brand new accommodation for those wanting it which is across from campus, which is very modern and in the ideal location.
