My university experience was honestly unforgettable. I had the strongest support system, including friends, my academic tutor and my lecturers. I was taught so well that i can still remember some of the things i learnt in my first year of Uni in classes like Contract and Criminal law. I got to join some unforgettable societies , such as the ACS, Urban Dance and Kpop society. I met the most amazing people and have been propelled into going forward to achieve my goal of becoming a practicing commercial lawyer.

I would highly praise the sports facilities, as these are very well maintained and easy as well as attractive to use.

The University support is amazing, all you need to do is ask and you will receive help. We even had a monthly academic tutor sessions where we would talk about our goals and progression towards achieving said goals and gain advice on employability and skills and what to do to achieve certain things.

Although i was not so much involved with the student union, I believe it worked hard to be representative and this was evidenced in the very recent student rep elections.

Yes very good location. The university is at most a 20minutes walk from the farthest accommodation, which is still decent. To town, it is also a good exercisable walk and there are easily accessible amenities on campus itself.

There is a very wide range of societies in the university varying from pole dancing to KPOP society, a personal favourite. There is also the ACS which is pretty diverse, and much more. Similarly there are a variety of sports societies in the university including rarities like volleyball and quidditch as well as much more common soccer and basketball

Over the three years I was at Exeter how my courses were taught improved more and more. The lectures became more engaging even the location and the lecturers very conducive and understandable. One thing I really like about how the courses are taught is how the lecturers take their time in explaining things, to ensure that everybody is following. They have no problem in going back to something they had said before to enable you understand, (this was especially the case in courses like Contract, Land, Criminal, Commercial, Intellectual Property, Tort...all my courses really). I also really liked the seminars, they were engaging and added to my understanding of the course. There isn't anything in particular that I can think about that I liked the least about the way my courses were taught.

The University has the career-zone site which is the most helpful effort to increase employability. It offers a wide range of employability development sessions and they also have the Exeter award, which allows you to undergo various skill development session for transferable skills.

Very good ! Things are well organised and there are good systems to keep students updated on changes to the degree. The University has some world class facilities like the forum. There is a good balance of social and study areas. The campus is exceptionally well kept and somewhere you feel proud to be on.

Very clean, easy to study in

Wellbeing does have issues with fitting students in and gets booked very quickly. More emergency slots are needed for those dealing with unexpected trauma or incidents.

The University is accessible to most students. However, it is quite far from town if you live on campus. The uni could consider opening a small pharmacy section e.g. for students to pick up essentials and some healthcare when they live on campus which can be a half an hour walk if you live in Birks

There is a truly great variety and enthusiasm. The societies are generally well run. Some are quite expensive and potentially the uni could require paid non- sport societies to have a closer break-down what you get with the membership compared to being free. This can be an issue with the Law ones in which most eve nets are open to anyone

There is no model answer given which I understand but it still feels like it’s guess work with trying to work out how essays should look. Best thing - enthusiastic staff about their subjects

The email updates are good but the advice of career advisors to “ask your parents” and other “connections” with regards to work experience is certainly outdated for students from non-traditional backgrounds. This has been a comment from the Law careers department - greater research needs to be put in to help guide students to a range of work experience options. Often the very formal and competitive work experiences are advertised e.g. mini pupillage's and vacation schemes. However, there are plenty of more informal opportunities which the uni could advertise students apply for.
