If being in a quiet university, in a small city/town is for you, by all means Lancaster University is the place for you. During the open days and in my first term of being here, I felt extremely at home, however, after several months, I find myself missing the hustle and bustle of the City. In terms of the University itself, there's a lot of green spaces, plenty of societies and different events that take place over the year which have been enjoyable. The Student Union has organised different events to help students, especially with the cost of living crisis, my favourite being the free meals in the different colleges. The university also hosts little markets on campus that sell food, books, clothing and even things like records which I found very quaint. Lectures have been good. My lecturers come from all different walks of life and I have really enjoyed the different aspects of their teaching, albeit some are better than others but I think that's the same anywhere you go. Theres nothing I can specifically say that needs improving because its all a matter of opinion but like I said, if you want or prefer life in the city, where things are always going on, Lancaster University isn't your go to destination but if you're interested in a little space, where you can get your head down and study or to enjoy the smaller things in life, I can't recommend Lancaster enough

Almost all of our lectures are in person, with one or two maybe being online. Law doesn't have as many course hours as other subjects like engineering or business but there is plenty of work/reading that is set to take up your free time. All of my lecturers are vastly different and I think that's a really great thing. All of them have expertise in different areas of law so it's good for students to see which path they're most interested in following. I will admit to say that some lecturers are harder to listen to than others, because of their style of teaching but what works for me might not work for someone else and vice versa. Every two weeks, we have workshops and small seminars with designated lecturers to go over practice questions and topics which I have found extremely helpful in the deeper understanding of a concept or topic. There is a mock court room on campus, which in your first year you don't go anywhere near but I'm looking forward to using in the next year. Placements and internships aren't something that are particularly advertised so far in my first year, either that, or I'm just not aware of them, but I'd think it would be more talked about in the next couple of years. There is a law society, run by students, that not only organise socials and things, but also opportunities to attend lectures from outside businesses or other events.

While Pendle College is commonly referred to as "Grizedale Rejects", I think the college halls are fairly decent. It's the second cheapest on campus but the quality of the room is brilliant. There is plenty of storage for clothes, books, belongings. The bed is decent and the windows let in lots of light. The sink works great and there's also storage there too. The kitchens are spacious and sufficient space for food, the toilet and shower facilities, if kept clean, have nothing really to fault. There's a lot of bike space if that's something needed and is right next to a carpark. The Pendle bar hosts live music events every month and other events like bar sport competitions or trivia nights. Theres mario kart on the TVs and music practice rooms upstairs. My only criticism is that Pendle Bar is the only vegan food place on campus, so if you're a vegetarian or vegan, good for you, if not...well don't eat there.
