I would strongly advice them to speak in English all the time and to enroll in different kind of activities so as to have a vast knowledge of a variety of cultures. Accommodation is quite expensive (at least 500 Pounds/month). Supermarket prices are OK, going out is expensive.

Its been great. The best thing about my course is the year in China and the term in Spain. Accommodation is good value because its quite cheap. I love EVERYTHING about the city! There are pretty good language resources but they could be extended, the Chinese resources in particular. I have joined the EARS society. The SU is pretty good. It probably won't be very easy to get a job, any decent job will be hard to get.
