The courses are very interesting and informative, however, the experience as a student is not as positive. Everytime you need assistance from someone they will pass you onto different departments or people within departments and make the process long, stressful and hopeless for the student. QUB also prioritizes its public image (new building, Christmas decorations, events...) over helping students cope with mental health issues or the constant rising cost of living. Due to the last one I have to work part time and I was told by my university "a work schedule cannot be taken into consideration, as you are registered as a full-time student".

The curriculum is enjoyable yet intense. It would be very convenient for students if it blended online and in person learning.

Having more bookable study rooms around campus would be beneficial - there are quite a few in the Library but it can at times be difficult to get one booked when you need it. It would be great if there were other study rooms available. For example, the Law School has lots of study rooms, which are frequently not in use, yet only students of Law can book these. It would be good if these were open to more students! It would also be good if there were more affordable places to eat on campus. There is a student pantry which is excellent, and there are kettles and microwaves available which is also great, but it would be nice if there was somewhere to get a hot meal that wasn't too expensive as Social and Junction can both work out very expensive! Even if it was just cafeteria style and quality I am sure it would be popular - my previous FE college had a cafeteria that was always busy, and it was great to get something like chips and goujons for £3.

The course is taught in person, and the content is quite good. There are plenty of interesting topics included in the modules. It would be good if there was more standardisation for the type of content provided on canvas as there are times where you miss a class for a legitimate reason (hospital appointments etc) but the lecture slides are just pictures - or in some (rarer) cases a lecturer may not use a powerpoint at all - Therefore, if the class is missed you cannot catch up. Contact time is good. Lecturers have office hours that you can try to speak to them during if you need help. Some tutors are much better at replying to emails than others though. For my specific degree there is no workplacement or internship discussion at all, but I am sure there are potential placements which could be suitable for some students. More subject specific career advice would be great!
