Tell us about your overall university experience so far.
Overall great uni with great resources but could do with improving quality of some lectures as well as the accommodation for the money charged, there's a good range of courses to do and it is in a prime location (can get to town easily and can also enjoy the almost countryside areas around too), Union is very helpful and have made a huge impact on the uni (such as 24/7 library), GP and counsellor onsite, good overall uni and would recommend but could do with some improvements here and there, see other comments for more details
Facilities
How good are your university's facilities?
Great facilities including a 24/7 library (very helpful for when you need to do late night research or want to stay and work on something quite late, perfect environment with different levels for different noise requirements), the facilities are really good there but could do with some improvements
Student support
How good is the support offered by the uni? Think both academic (tutors/feedback) and personal (counselling, etc).
Haven't had any interaction with anyone other than my lecturers, very helpful people but cannot comment on anyone else really
Students' union
What do you think of your Students' Union in terms of student representation and facilities?
Arrange lots of events, seem open to students to give feedback and willing to help those in need of anything relevant to the union, thanks to the union we also have a great student village (including a subway, costa, costcutter and HSBC onsite) as well as a student bar (locos) and a student club (the academy) onsite, plenty to do and a few places to go for food too
Local life
Is your university in a good location in terms of distance to accommodation and local amenities?
Town centre literally 5 minutes away on the bus, lots of buses available and great range of shops in town (Uxbridge), alternatively there is a lidl about 5-10 minutes walk from the other side of campus, liquid (nightclub) in town has a student night every Wednesday and Brunel has a student bus that runs free for Brunel students from the town centre to the campus every Wednesday and Friday night to get back easier (and much cheaper) and quieter to the campus to be considerate to the neighbours
Societies and Sports
How would you rate the variety of societies/sports?
Amazing range of clubs and societies, there's something for everyone and if there's something you're interested in and want to make a new society you can (minimum 3 members), also great range of activities from clubs and societies, great way to meet people
Lecturers and teaching quality
What do you like most and least about the way your course(s) are taught?
Depends what course you do (great range of courses) but personally I have found for several people that the lectures are helpful and great quality and I also find the lecturers to be approachable and helpful when it comes to needing clarification on something or more help outside class hours
Career prospects
How does your uni make efforts to increase your employability (careers department, work placements, transferable skills)?
Have high percentage of graduates going into work and even have connections with some places to get their graduates straight into work, about 60 f graduates are working or in education after they graduate
University halls
What do you think about the safety, condition, location and cost of your accommodation?
Accommodation is moderate, personally feel it is overpriced for what you actually get and the staff have very little respect for the students as tenants, constant threat of fines is incredibly stressful especially for things like the kitchen (could be one person causing an issue but the fine would be for the entire flat)
