It is a uni city, so it is full of other students which is great for meeting people! Also, even though the campus is spread out, everything is within 10 - 15 mins from each other which is so helpful and really easy! There is also a uni bus which is free for university of Portsmouth students. There's not much that I think needs improving. The only thing I can think of is that there maybe should be more society events that don't involve alcohol. But other than that, it is a really great place to study! The staff are so helpful and there are so many things put in place to help students.

The course I'm on is fully in-class lessons only, which is good for the most part, but when you have 2 lessons in a day which are several hours apart, it can be an inconvenience. I think that there should be an online element once a week. The contact hours are good and all resources are put online too incase you need to go over them again or if you missed it. From my experience, the lecturers are friendly and will help as long as you ask!

My best experiences at university definitely were my lecturers and the careers service. I really can say that they have boosted my self confidence after years of feeling rubbish prior to university. If I didn't come to Portsmouth I don't know if I could have had a similar or better level of support. My worst experience at university has been drinking culture. I never understood the need to drink alcohol all the time as a social event.

I appreciate how much the lecturers on my course really are enthusiastic about what they teach. That energy is quite infectious and makes me care a lot about doing well. What I didn't like on my course was the online classes of 2020/21. learning languages via Zoom impeded my ability to learn, particularly Mandarin.

The money I paid definitely was worth it, in the sense that it was the cheapest option and that it was clear they did not care for the accommodation. You got what you paid for. The halls themselves were terribly kept, the carpets in the hallway were stained, torn, ruined etc. The kitchen fire alarm did not work which was concerning. Silverfish were a nightmare in that building too, some flats were far worse than ours. Honestly, that building definitely breaks some health and safety procedures it does not feel safe to live in.
