I love the location of the university, it’s around 5 minutes from the city centre and therefore easy to explore the amazing city I live in. The tutors and facilities available are truly great and I feel like my voice is heard and that I am being given opportunities that truly will allow me to progress my career and what I want to go into after my life at university. The university is a beautiful mix of old and new with modern buildings and old buildings and the old buildings are kept in amazing condition that retain their beauty and allow for a wonderful feel every time I go for my lectures. The modern parts of the campus are also great as they show the beauty of the university. In terms of facilities there are plenty of places for acting students such as plenty of large rooms that allow for performing as well as the “creative centre” which itself is a great area to be able to perform for final performances. Other places such as the cafeteria are well stocked with lots of cheap, delicious food and the variety within the week allows for many lovely dishes for only a few pounds. The library is three floors tall with the top floor being a silent floor with a large amount of computers that allow for plenty of students to get their work done in a calm and quiet environment. In terms of improvement I am not sure what can be done as of now, I am sure any problems I do have will be sorted in the next few months that I am at the university, such as I wish that it was a bit clearer on what was going to happen on my course over the next year as I have had a few confusing moments where I am unsure on what is going to happen.

The best aspects of the course have to be the tutors and the opportunities that we are given with the projects we have to perform. The tutors are all funny and spend plenty of time talking to us as people which allows everyone to calm down and not be overtaken by nerves. The projects we are given are very helpful and allow us to push ourselves and once more they allow us to take charge and pick what we do allowing us all to have a sense of independence when it comes to our performances. At the start of the term we were focused mainly on exercises and helping to loosen up and learning the very important parts of performing such as stretches and vocal exercises where if we weren’t taught these then we would be sabotaging our own performances. We are taught in person with no online lessons unless absolutely there is no other way. The tutors are always there on time and are ready to perform and help us from the beginning. We are usually split into a few groups so that the different tutors can deal with a smaller group and allow for more focused sessions.

The best thing has to be the location. Being only a 5 minute walk from the university it allows for me to always be ready should I need to be and I am very rarely late or missing my lectures/workshops. It is also nearby some shops and takeaways and is only a 30 minute walk to a near by Lidl which is perfect for being able to stock up on food for two weeks. My roommates are good people. I prefer to not hang out with them or talk to them for long periods of time and there have been no problems except for a time we had to kick out our roommate due to him being hostile. Luckily this happened early on and there have been no more incidents since he was kicked and I am therefore very safe. The allocation of rooms is very good as we all have a similar sized room and being four of us we fill up the house. The rooms are large enough for everyone to have plenty of space to put their own belongings to make the room their own. It is very much worth the money I spend, it is the cheapest accommodation available however it is very taken care of with all necessary equipment available and working to the best.

Best aspects of the uni experience: - lecturers are accessible and helpful - support staff are genuinely useful and important in their function - teaching is done with exceptional competence - the campus environment is extremely welcoming and friendly, as well as diverse - there is a wide variety of interests represented in the different societies on offer - the campus being small means that generally everything is accessible within a short walk, which is beneficial for students with physical disabilities Worst aspects of the uni experience: - courses that don’t have dedicated areas or buildings can be incredibly disjointed in terms of location, which is not ideal for students with physical disabilities, regardless of the short walking distances between most places

Best aspects of Law at YSJ: - the lecturers are an incredibly talented and dedicated group who obviously care deeply about their students, both regarding their future prospects and as people - the course content is well taught and digestible (complex subject matter is generally broken down well) - students with disabilities are given a vast degree of support from staff in order to best tailor their assessments and learning to be optimal Worst aspects of Law at YSJ: - Law is one of the courses with an incredibly disjointed set of teaching areas, and therefore a lot of walking between classes relative to other courses
