The uni is large, green and has many facilities. It has multiple places for late night studying, as well as lots of cafes in lots of different schools across campus, meaning no matter where you are you can get a coffee and some lunch. The students are friendly and the staff I have met are kind and helpful. The hall culture is super fun and being in societies is too, the societies fair organised by the union every year is well planned and helps students such as myself connect with different communities. The sports culture is, of course, everywhere and I know many people that participate and absolutely love it. However, as a non-sporty person I have still felt a part of the Loughborough community through the gardening, bellydance and sing societies, which shows that even though it’s a very sports oriented university, they accommodate everyone. My only suggestions would be an expansion on the union to include more restaurants, more ATMs and maybe more flowers planted for the spring

The design school is modern and clean and purpose built. The lecturers are friendly and professional, and very knowledgeable. The classes are interesting and informative and often staff members will play relevant tiktoks or YouTube videos which help visual learners such as myself. There are so many drop in sessions during the week, where you can talk to your lecturers and be given personal advice, which is invaluable towards coursework deadlines. The lessons are mainly in person, however some classes may be online. The lecture rooms are often great collaborative spaces, and we’re given time to discuss ideas with each other and bounce things between each other. The design school computer lab is open 24/7 which is so helpful if you have a bad sleep schedule like me or you just need to do an all nighter for some work. Overall I’ve absolutely loved my course so far, I’ve found the lectures interesting and engaging and the staff helpful and friendly. At the end of the term the staff organised an ice cream truck to give the students a free ice cream each, it was so fun and thoughtful and made me love my course even more

William morris has been a core part of my uni experience. The rooms are comfy and nice. I had an en suite room two years in a row and I found it to be perfect. The kitchens are large, and I had 3 large sofas in mine, which were perfect for hanging out with my flatmates. The bill mo study room has been my saving grace. It’s a perfect quiet space to do some work, with computers and comfy chairs. If you decide to do any dance society you will be in luck, as the bill mo dance studio is where most the dance societies practice, so you won’t have far to go every week. The common room is nice, with a pool table and table tennis table, as well as small kitchen and comfy sofas. There are two laundry rooms, both are good, but expensive as it’s circuit laundry. The reception staff are beyond friendly and helpful, I’ve never had a single bad experience with them. The maintenance crew are proactive and while we’ve had some minor issues that haven’t been fixed, any major issues are sorted immediately

Great but 24-7 study space would be good

Great
