The best aspect of university is the campus for me especially since there’s always somewhere to go and something to do. The campus always has places to study and revise and in addition and it’s a safe space to walk around at any time of day. Campus also has so many additional offers like the two pound meals currently running which are so helpful and very needed in this cost of living crisis. The worst aspect about my university experience is the help given outside lectures isn’t enough for me. My course is quite heavy and difficult for me to score well on and there’s not much aid in how to do well during finals. Otherwise the most lecturers are quite good, ignoring the few that just read of the slides and didn’t add to my understanding and learning about the subject.

The best part of my course is the fact that it is so flexible. I can add a variety of different modules and build the interests of mine outside of just Economics. It’s helped me narrow down what aspects of the industry I like and dislike and further narrow down my career path which was very much needed. Blended learning has also been very helpful for me as it’s allowed me to learn on the go and this flexibility is great for me as I live off campus and have to commute sometimes. The worst part about my course is the extra support sessions as they are not very helpful for me. They just go over class exercises and read of the board and don’t give many tips on how to do tests as the exams are quite difficult and hard to answer for me. The application of lecture notes and class notes in examination doesn’t always work out and very hard to score well. Id appreciate some extra revision classes especially for the upcoming final exams. Since balancing all my modules is quite challenging.

The thing I like most about uni halls is the fact that it’s so central and close to campus. Making it so safe and easy to go to the library whenever needed and get to lectures very quick. It’s so easy to get what I need whenever I lived on campus. It made me more productive too as everything was so easy to access. Much more is open too this year and I regret staying off campus as living costs are increasing and campus has quite a few benefits related to meals and living costs. The worst thing about uni halls is that places like Aldi which are very cost effective aren’t close and not easy to access every week. Having a grocery store near campus that isn’t Tesco would’ve been so helpful as I find the prices in SU store are quite inflated.

The great thing for studying here is whenever you have questions or problems, people here (including lecturers, staffs, SU and so on) are always happy to help you. Students of the uni are encouraged to tell and communicate everything they want which is really helpful. Moreover, diversity is the another attractive feature for the university, people come from everywhere get union here sharing their cultures, ideas and differences. That is amazing. The point need to improve is how to reduce the negative impact of accommodation noise.

All of the course I have taken are on campus. Each course usually has one two hour lecture and once one class for each week. We can contact our lecturers in class, by email or go to their office when they are in office time. It is convenient for students communicate with lecturers.

Overall, the accommodation of the uni is valuable. living in it is comfortable, convenient and safe. Space of the room is suitable for student studying, living and relaxing. Security of the accommodation are reliable, as well housekeepers are kind and industrious. One thing need to make progress is how to reduce the negative factors, like noise, stealing.
