I was very hesitant of this university because I assumed there would be a lack of diversity, however, I completely misjudged it and it is quite a diverse university and is very welcoming. In fact, the university even goes further to expand their inclusivity via courses of micro aggressions and prejudice remarks, I also feel that my culture is very appreciated here as they have a filipino society as well as many to help people relate to others culturally. I think every university has room for improvement and I would only complain about the maintenance for certain accommodations, as people have many times told me stories about their experiences with the maintenance. I have not yet experienced this yet but in certain accommodations, they find the service quite slow. I also find there to be many opportunities for jobs and easy access to making money which is very useful for a university student like myself. Within the first month I was already able to find a job because of the variety of places available here. I do really enjoy this university and Im glad I chose this university. I never really enjoyed school and didn’t really want to go to university but I cannot say I regret my choice.

My course was nothing how I imagined. Its much funner and has a greater variety in topics. My favourite part is definitely the art shop that us students have access to in the Eldon building. It really helps us in choosing the correct and best quality items and makes sure we pick the most efficient supplies and if we are in need of them we can quickly access them.

Although, the university is diverse I did feel as if I was allocated in a hall with hardly any diversity. Though I really do like my flatmates, I wish there was more diversity, as there are sometimes great culture clashes especially with someone you’re living with, as I have different foods and traditions. However, I do enjoy Rosalin a lot and Im glad I chose it over any other accommodation.

The University of Portsmouth provides amazing facilities. In the creative course’s building they have screen printing rooms/a fully equipped workshop (drills/sanding)/3D printers/ green screen room/vacuum forming , etc. There are so many pieces of machinery and technology that no matter what you’re choosing to study you’ll be able to make the most of the resources to experiment and produce your work to your best ability. The university also have amazing connections which enables us to learn from the best and provides us with only the best opportunities.

My course is a mixture of lectures/seminars and studio time. The lectures are basically a time used to explain what we are expected to do as well as providing us with helpful information to support us in our work. The studio time does sometimes include help and group work but for the majority of it we get on with what we’re behind on or currently working on. The lectures are well spread out so we don’t spend too much time sat in lecture halls.

The amenities included in the rent are good, we are provided with a fully functioning kitchen. There are washing machines/tumble dryers in their own room on the ground floor too , and as much as they’re a little pricey they’re still required.
