Queen’s is a fantastic place to study: lecturers are genuinely approachable and invested in your success, the McClay Library and labs are modern with plenty of study space, and the campus blends stunning historic buildings with green, walkable areas that make everyday life easy; student life is vibrant with hundreds of societies, great events at the Students’ Union, and strong careers support with regular fairs and placement opportunities; plus, Belfast is friendly, affordable, and packed with culture, cafés, and outdoor adventures—giving you an ideal balance of academic rigor, community, and quality of life.

Blended delivery worked well—pre-recorded lectures for theory plus in-person seminars for discussion kept me engaged; weekly contact hours were well balanced, with a mix of lectures, labs, and tutorials that gave structure without overload; sessions were well paced with clear learning outcomes, and slides/readings were uploaded in advance; small-group tutorials were interactive and great for questions and applying concepts; hands-on labs aligned with assessments and used up-to-date software/equipment; lecture recordings with timestamps and quick quizzes made revising efficient; assessment had a good balance of coursework and exams, with clear rubrics that matched the taught content; feedback arrived within the promised window and included specific pointers for improvement; office hours were easy to book and staff replied quickly on email/Teams; timetabling avoided clashes and left sensible gaps for independent study; support from the library, academic skills workshops, and careers drop-ins was easy to access and genuinely useful; accessibility was strong, with captions, accessible slides, and varied assessments for different learning styles; workload was manageable with peak deadlines signposted well in advance; group projects were structured with clear roles and constructive peer feedback; and guest speakers, case studies, and placement opportunities connected theory to current industry practice.
