Great marine science facilities. Student support are usually very helpful. Most buildings are close together and easy to get to but it's still in the city centre, so not as closed off as most closed campus universities. The SU is understaffed right now, which is unfortunate, and makes societies a bit harder to run than usual. The SoBMS do listen to module complaints and make changes, so your experience will have been improved by every year above you. Cheap housing (but watch out for bad contracts!) and a mostly safe city - as far as cities go. Some really nice bars and constant student events/discounts, as well as decent buses, make it a pretty good living situation. It's also not that difficult to get into nature - either a short walk down to the sea, or a bus/train visit to Dartmoor.

Very intensive. Mostly in person, lots of practical work but also lots of in-class work. Really great for learning and all very industry relevant, but probably don't do the course full-time with a part-time job (unless it's very flexible, like tutoring). Small class so good for bonding. The lecturers all know what they're on about and are easy to talk to.

It's a bit expensive but has really good maintenance. Right next to the university and they're pretty careful about putting people with health issues/special living requirements in with other people in a similar situation. Circuit laundry is a scam but you'll deal with them regardless of which halls you live in (it's stupidly expensive). They have regular events for free as well, like zoo trips and baked goods. Take advantage of it!
