Beautiful campus, and the Archaeology program is one of the best with excellent teaching staff who reply quickly and are incredibly helpful. On the down side, tuition for an international student is overpriced for what you get, and heaven forbid you be mature student at the same time. Not a lot of support or social events for either. Also absolutely no scholarships or bursaries of any kind for Archaeology and only 1 for international students

Once again, excellent staff and Kings Manor is a great building to study in. Course material is relevant and up to date. Going to dig site in the 1st year is awesome and was a great experience. You don't get overwhelmed by course content and largely interesting. They have their reading material almost entirely online, which is excellent. Lectures are recorded so you can view again later on. One of the only draw backs is that King's Manor is in the city center while the main campus is south of the city in Heslington which is quite the walk (45 minutes from KM) or a bus ride. Most 2nd and 3rd year classes are at King's Manor but there are a few on main campus, which can be a pain.

2nd farthest from the main campus. No grocery shopping nearby...no anything, really. Rooms were alright but old. Radiator had to be constantly bled. People who allocated the students did a horrible job. In my block alone, there were at least 5 mature students that could have, and wanted to be, put together rather than sticking 1 30+ year old with 11 other 18 year olds. Also, no real "living" area to sit in. Just the kitchen or going to JJ's, which is essentially a clubhouse. The area is beautiful, though. You're essentially plunked down in the middle of a normal residential area.

Careers service is not very good here you have to do most of the looking yourself which is annoying since we are paying £9000 to be taught here and hopefully get a job! My advice would be to apply for internships early so that you get the best chance of bagging one!
