Great, friendly uni and lots of societies and student events to make the university experience amazing. Interesting lecturers and staff, would recommend history. The city isn't too eventful however

Really lovely campus, super friendly people and friendly staff. The SU should hold more events as there’s not really any clubs (apart from Vodka) and going to Southampton for a night out can be expensive for some. Student Services wait times can be a while as always busy.

Should have more lecture hours as 6-8 a week is not enough. Some lecturers need to have more passion for their subject/topic as reading in a monotone voice of a PowerPoint slide isn’t helpful. Other services linked to history such as PAL are brilliant and really useful.

Winchester is a beautiful small city with lots of great sites but is definitely not a “uni town.” Only “student style” shops are Primark and TK Max and the closest food shops being Tesco’s and TK Maxx. Public transport is pretty decent with the closest bus stop a 5/7 min walk from main campus, with buses running every 10 mins. Everything is walking distance from the uni, such as train station and the main high street, with Southampton only being a 20 min train ride away. Safety is vital and recently there have been a couple of issues hence why public transport is so important and there should be a bus available after 11pm. Is a diverse uni but definitely could do more to be more diverse.

Situated a 2 min walk from main campus, so brilliant location. Queens has a nice friendly feel about it, with nice size rooms and a decent size ensuite. The only issue is the kitchen. The shared kitchens in Queens are all very different in size but it’s pot luck whether you get a nice one or not. My kitchen is tiny, no real hang out space, not enough room for 8 people to sit round the table, and with one window it gets so hot and sweaty especially when weather is nice. Basics supplied in kitchen but the cupboard space is pretty decent with enough fridge space (2 fridges per kitchen). Personal opinion that the accommodation should be cheaper. Winchester very expensive to live especially if on lower side of maintenance loan which doesn’t cover rent at all.
